Linear lighting is the most direct way to make light part of the architecture rather than something hung on top of it.
Recessed — the profile disappears into the ceiling and only the line of light remains; it needs a reservation at construction stage. Surface — mounted onto the existing surface, the usual answer for a refurbishment. Suspended — the profile becomes a visible element and lights both up and down, which is what a desk or a dining table needs. The decision is taken together with the ceiling, not after it.
What separates good linear lighting from poor is continuity: no dots, no break at the joints, no shift in tone from one section to the next. That comes from the right diffuser, connectors that leave no shadow, and strips from the same production batch. Over long runs the feed comes from both ends so the light does not fall away at the far side.
When the shape of the space will not take a standard profile — a curve, a circle, a length that does not divide — the profile is made to order. At Kantina Kokoneshi, Mazars and In’s Brunch the profiles were produced specifically for the project. That needs on-site measurement and production time, so it enters the plan early.
Forty-two projects. Suspended profiles over the desks at Union Bank and Mazars, circular ones at the Peace Embassy and Pink&Blue, linear runs in the lobby at Yacht Premium Hotel, and recessed profiles with LED strip at Tirana Office Kadiu.
Practically unlimited, since profiles join end to end. The real limit is electrical: beyond a certain length you need an additional feed or a second driver, which is calculated in the design.
Yes — circles, angles, curves and free forms. These are made to order and need the exact shape drawn before production.
The diffuser wipes clean with a damp cloth. If a section of strip fails, only that segment is replaced — which is why the profile should not be sealed permanently into plasterboard with no access.
