A magnetic track is not a fixture — it is an infrastructure. You install it once, then change the lighting scene as often as the space changes, without touching the ceiling.
An aluminium profile carries a low-voltage bus, typically 48V. Fixtures — spots, linear modules, pendants, wall-washers — attach magnetically and draw power with no visible cabling. You remove, move, add or re-aim them by hand, in seconds. The electrical installation stays as it is: only what you see changes.
Anywhere the contents of the space move. In retail and showrooms, where the display changes each season and the light has to follow. In open-plan offices, where partitions shift. In kitchens and living areas, where the same room needs to be bright in the morning and low in the evening. If the space never changes, a conventional recessed spot does the job for less — and we will tell you so.
Seventeen of our projects have used magnetic systems. In retail at Monogram Arena and Pinko, where the display changes with the season. In offices at Union Bank and the College of Europe. In homes such as Rolling Hills Villa and the Duplex in Tirana. At Monogram Arena and Tirana Office Kadiu the track continues outdoors, in its weather-rated version.
Four things, and all four before the plaster goes on. Mounting: recessed needs a ceiling reservation and belongs to the construction phase; surface and suspended can be installed later. Length and continuity: where it starts, where it ends, how many corners, where the feed enters. Power: the driver is sized on the total track load, plus headroom for fixtures added later. Light quality: colour temperature and CRI — in retail and homes, poor CRI kills the product and the material.
We are not tied to a single manufacturer, so we have no reason to push the most expensive system. We start from the floor plan and how the space is used, run the DIALux calculation when the project calls for it, and only then choose the track and the fixtures that answer it — not the other way round. We supply, and we stay involved during installation.
Only for the recessed version, which has to be planned before the ceiling is closed. Surface and suspended versions mount onto the existing surface and are the usual answer for a refurbishment.
Yes — that is the main reason to choose this system. The only limit is the driver capacity, which is why we size it with headroom from the start.
Yes, within the same system and the same manufacturer. Magnetic systems are not standardised across brands — a fixture from one brand will not always fit another brand’s track. That is why the system is chosen at the start, not at the end.
Send us the plan or a few photos. We will tell you what the space needs — not what the catalogue happens to have.
